My Little Saint

As most of you know, I teach at a Catholic school and right now, Carter goes there too. Although we are not Catholic, I have never been so accepted by any faith before in my life!!! They don't care that my beliefs differ from theirs, I'm beginning to understand why they believe the things that they believe...although I don't agree with some things, I do admire the dedication that they have to their religion. I LOVE that I can pray at anytime during the day with my classes and that Carter prays with his class many times a day. I love that they have prayer circles where everyone can go around and tell their prayer requests. Anyway, I just believe that it's not your "religion" that matters, but your personal relationship with Christ.

Anywho...now that I'm off my soapbox...Catholic's celebrate 'All Saints Day on November 1st. It's where they honor the Saints that their classrooms have been assigned. One student is chosen to dress up like that Saint and they are recognized in Mass. Carter got chosen this year (mainly because the costume underneath was too small to fit any of the other boys) and I have to say I'm a proud momma!!! He had to stand in front of the church with all the other Saints and announce that he was Saint Juan Diego. He did great!!! He was nervous in front of the entire school but took his duties very seriously!

Here's a picture of 'My Little Saint', Juan Diego...missing bottom teeth and all!!!
